  2. Pluto is a planet a minor dwarf planet, but it is still a planet and it has never stopped being a planet. The strange thing is that a lot of people are very confused on this subject and I am not sure why. Believe it or not Pluto is now the “King” of the Plutinos. Plutinos are a part of the trans-Neptunian objects that are past the outermost planet Neptune.

    Pluto also has five known moons: Charon (the largest, with a diameter just over half that of Pluto), Nix, Hydra, Kerberos, and Styx. Earth has only one Moon, which is just named Moon.

    When the New Horizons mission (currently en-route) arrives at Pluto in 2015 we will have a better understanding of Pluto and who knows the dwarf planet may get reclassified again.
    Pluto is also smaller than the continental United States.
