Well, with 6 sides means it has six different colors. With 9 squares on each side of the cube, that equals…let’s see…54 squares.
If you are asking how many pieces make up the Cube: there is one piece that has all the center squares then 20 smaller pieces that make up the other squares. Now you know how I solved the Cube–by taking it apart and reassembling it with one color per side.

Tim is CORRECT! The ANSWER is 6. 54 total.
I was always afraid to take the pieces apart – worried it would break and not go back together.
